Oatmeal with Dates Cuisine: Rice/grains

Ingredients:1 c Oats 2 c Water 1/2 ts Salt 1 c Dates (pitted and halved)
Instructions:Bring water to a boil. Add salt. Add rolled oats slowly. Cook over low flame in a double boiler. Cook 45 minutes. When done, add the dates. Mix thoroughly. Serve with cream and sugar. Source: The International Cookbook by Margaret Weimer
